Hi to all our members: Hoping you had a VERY GOOD summer. Your executive welcome you to our latest post with news that may be of interest. At present we are in the process of getting our Christmas Luncheon ready to go, so if you wish to attend please fill out the form within or respond to the hard copy sent out. A gentle reminder that dues for 2026 are due, preferably before the end of this year.

We are also looking to form a new executive going forward. The forms are also included in this post. Your current executive are experiencing major health issues, and as such we are in need of new blood to continue the good work our chapter engages in, and the opportunity the chapter provides for those of us who are retired to interact with fellow retirees in social events.

KNITTING CIRCLE: Our thanks to all the talented people who have continued to knit for our donations to those in need. Please remember there is wool available at the office if you need it. You can arrange to drop off any items at 1870 Wellington Avenue, Wpg on Mondays or Thursdays 9.30-12.30 by arrangement. Our donations go to any of the following.. Agape Table, Broadway Community Centre, West End Women’s Centre, or in the case of baby or small children items the Children’s Hospital.

BRANDON COUNCIL For members in the Brandon rural area, just letting you know that there is a meeting at the Chicken Chef on the second Wednesday of the month (other than July-August). They also collect donations for the Christmas Cheer Board and make up toiletry bags for the Women’s Shelter. All are welcome to attend and join in the comradeship.  Sharon Gray, Council Chair.

CAMBRIAN COUNCIL: We are still looking to re-form this council to attend to business relating to our members in Northwest Ontario and environs. The duties are primarily to look after membership and if possible to arrange for any get-togethers for those interested. A comprehensive list of members will be supplied, along with seed money left over from the previous council. Please contact the Winnipeg office at 1-204-987-5010 should you be interested.
