Postal Employees 25 Year Club<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

(A Council of the Terra Nova\nChapter Heritage Club)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minutes of meeting held at Royal Canadian Legion,\nBlackmarsh Rd. on February 26th<\/sup>, 2020. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the absence of president Howlett, Heritage Club\npresident Holmes opened the meeting at 7:30pm. and thanked those members\npresent for their attendance. The minutes of the previous meeting were adopted\non a motion by John O\u2019Toole and seconded by Bill Marshall.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

BEREAVEMENT REPORT:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Barry Abbott;     Libby Holwell  \u2013 \ndaughter of Alice Abbott.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A moments silence was held in\ntheir honor and our sincere condolences go out to all those concerned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

RETIREMENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We wish him health and\nhappiness for the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TREASURER\u2019S\nREPORT:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The treasurer was not in\nattendance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEW\nBUSINESS:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

El has spoken to\nDave Parsons of Stn. \u201cA\u201d about the Harvey\u2019s calendars and was told there should\nbe no problem with storage for next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have received a\nbank money-order for $10.00 from Mount Pearl with no name. If you sent a bank\nmoney-order to Terra Nova Chapter in November 2019 but haven\u2019t received a\nreceipt yet, please call El at 753-4231.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El reported that\ndue to a restructuring of routes there will be seven new routes created\nsometime this year. Start times will revert back to 7:00am. and the carriers will\nhave to come back to Stn. A for lunch. \nThere is no extra room for the\nnew routes so the Post Office may need to take up a portion of the lunch room\nwhich will have an impact on the breakfasts run by the Heritage Club, as well\nas other functions now held at the Plant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

El stated that the\nClub will do a breakfast tomorrow in aid of the Waterford Hospital Auxillary,\nsubsequent to a conversation with Alice Abbott who has been volunteering with\nthat organization for over thirty years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Club will\nagain be helping out at the Gathering Place this year, May 30th<\/sup> from\n9:00 am. to 1:00pm. Volunteers are needed, so if you would like to help a\nworthy cause please call Dave Roche or Monique Dumesnil at 753-9826.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There being no\nfurther business, the meeting adjourned at 7:55pm. on a motion by Bob Thomson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our next meeting will\nbe a Jiggs Dinner meeting at the Legion on March 25th<\/sup> at 6:30pm.<\/strong>\nThis dinner meeting will be open to\nmembers and<\/strong> spouses\/significant others, so please let us know of your\nattendance by no later than March 21st<\/sup>, by calling either El @\n753-4231, Wayne @ 364-1263 or Eric @ 368-2692.  The\ncost is $15.00 per person.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
