Postal Employees 25 Year Club
(A Council of the Terra Nova Chapter Heritage Club)

Minutes of meeting held at Royal Canadian Legion, Blackmarsh Rd. on
January 23rd, 2019.The meeting came to order at 7:35pm and the minutes of the previous meeting were adopted on a motion by Bill Marshall and seconded by Jim Flynn.

A moment of silence was held in their honor and our sincere condolences go out to all those concerned.


There were none reported at this time.


Treasurer Keough presented her report, which was adopted on a motion by Marj and seconded by B. Thomson.


El Holmes thanked those members who helped out with the Harvey’s Calendars and those who helped with the 8500 or so Santa letters.
It was brought to the attention of the Club that the containers for the calendars were too heavy.
He also noted that the Luncheon held in December was a great success with 67 people attending.
He stated that the Club, through its charity breakfast and various draws during December, raised $1294.00 in aid of the Gathering Place.
El also reported that he was approached by Sam Tiller that the Club do a fundraiser for the George Street United Church outreach program.
Choices for Youth was also suggested, as was doing a meal at the Gathering Place.

El mentioned that members should check the Heritage Club website for discounts being offered by Choice Hotels and Telus.

Then he informed the meeting that the annual Community Volunteer Income Tax Program seminar will be held at the Legion February 12th, at 10:00am.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 8:00pm. on a motion by Eric Penney.

Our next meeting will be at the Legion on February 27th, 2019 at 7:30pm
