Minutes from the meeting held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Blackmarsh Road on Tuesday, November 28, 2017.

The meeting came to order at 7:30 p.m. Heritage Club president Holmes stated due to other obligations he was the only executive member attending this evening. He asked for any errors or omissions from the minutes of our last meeting of October 26th. Adrian Angel stated that in the bereavement column it had been omitted that Sharon Warford was the wife of Dave Warford, and daughter of deceased member, Pat Francis. There being no other issues, the minutes were accepted on a motion by Gerard Knight and seconded by Bob Thompson.

A moment of silence was held in their honor and our sincere condolences go out to all of those concerned.

RETIREMENT

We congratulate Dan Martin on his recent retirement. We would like to wish him good luck and health in the future.

TREASURER’S REPORT

The balance per bank statement was provided, however the treasurer was not available to give her report. This amount was accepted on a motion by Eldred Holmes and seconded by Jim Flynn.

NEW BUSINESS

The Santa Letter campaign launch will take place next Tuesday, December 5th whether the Downtown Parade goes ahead or not. We will meet in the Kenmount Road lunchroom at 6:00 p.m, and pizza will be provided. Please contact Eric or El if you intend to attend, or if you would like Santa letters sent to your home.

Bill Marshall and Dave Roche, the Harvey’s calendar co-ordinators, have been in touch with Harvey’s. We haven’t received a delivery date yet, more information will follow.

The Club will be preparing a breakfast at the Kenmount Road plant on Thursday, December 14th, at a cost of $5.00 per plate. Proceeds will be donated to The Gathering Place.

The Christmas Dinner and Dance will be held at the Elks Club on Saturday,
December 16th. Music provided by Metro Music (John Boland). The meal will be a turkey dinner. Cost $30.00 per person. Please contact Eric, Wayne or El as soon as possible for tickets.

Adrian then asked if people were aware of Bill 27 concerning our pension plan. A discussion followed.

The next meeting will held on Wednesday, January 31, 2018.

The meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m. on a motion by Gerard Knight, seconded by Doreen Leamon.
