2018 Golden S

President’s Message: As your President, my hopes and aspirations are hat we can that we can once again uplift our enthusiasm, interest, and support with lots more participation in our goals and mission as we strive to better our reputation of the past. Working together as a team we can accomplish just that. Numerous challenges lay ahead for this year and next and without you we cannot be successful. Your executive and I are always open for new ideas. This is your Chapter, so we ask that you show us what you want and help us achieve it. I trust that in this communique we can raise your spirits as we highlight what has happened and what is to come.

A Very Busy Christmas: On November 25, 61 members and guests enjoyed the Christmas Social held in St. Cecilia’s Hall. Entertainment by “the Litzenberger’s”, Raffle baskets designed by Joe and Florence Manz, numerous door prizes displayed by Pat and Lloyd Leibel, a 50/50 draw, great array of food and desserts, fellowship and fun, along with a huge donation of money, clothing, food and toiletries given to our charity “Cathedral Lunch Program(Feed My Sheep)” rounded out the festivities. To Coordinators Pat and Lloyd Leibel many thanks.

Salvation Army Kettle was manned by 14 members at Southland Mall on December 14 thanks to coordinator Lloyd Leibel.

Santa Elves: over 5,000 letters were answered by 16 of our members.

Appreciation Luncheon was served to our many Chapter volunteers and coordinators thankfully arranged by Joe Manz.

Chapter Annual Meeting: January 27 there were 39 members enjoying a hot roast beef luncheon before settling in to reports and discussions and elections. Conway Crozier-Smith was voted in as President. 1st and 2nd Vice-Presidential roles were declared vacant as no names were brought forth. After being nominated, Mervin Palka became 3rd Vice-President. An extra Member at large, George Totten, volunteered his services. The charity Cathedral Luncheon “Feed my Sheep” was approved for continued support for another term. After numerous years as 2nd Vice-President, Lloyd Leibel decided to step down. He, along with his wife Pat , provided much input and organizational skills which will be truly missed.
